Four generations gathered for a couple days in Arizona at my mom's place. It was Arlin Jack's first time on an airplane, I'm not sure who's flight out there was rougher his or mine! I was kind of frazzled when we landed. Confining Captain Jack's energy is like putting a squirrel in box, but we managed. It was so nice to be in the sun for a couple of days and wear our summer clothes.
I hadn't seen my Grandpa in 15 years. According to my Mom, he had remembered me as a self centered teen. Ha. Yes, I was quite the rebel back then but who isn't when they're 15?! I was boy crazy and in Michigan bored out of my mind, of course I was a little self absorbed. But to Grandpa's surprise I was all grown up and now a mom. I was sure proud to introduce my little guy to Grandpa Fred. I think he really enjoyed being around Arlin's young spirit.
The trip was short and sweet, didn't want to overwhelm Grandpa Fred with Arlin, cause after all he is teething! I'm sure the short trip was just a teaser for my Mom! But she'll get her Captain Jack fix soon enough. :)
The airplane ride home was much better than the ride out there, Arlin took a bottle and crashed out, the window seat is key when traveling with baby in tow- something to lean when he sleeps and to look out of when awake. He thought the airplanes were pretty cool when we were coming down the tarmac! Chatting away at them as we passed by.
Our next airplane adventure is in June, a family vacation to the Florida Keys!
