They were taken after the bout at the Fillmore, Green Barrettes vs. The Bad Apples. Unfortunately we lost, by quite a few points.
Minus the victory we had an amazing crowd- selling out the venue, it was packed and you could feel the love for derby! Pretty cool to skate in one of the oldest venues in Denver... Under the huge crystal chandeliers and on the same floor James Brown once performed. I couldn't help but feel like a celebrity in my own way...after the bout fans mobbed the track to get several of the skaters autographs and take pictures with us. My favorite autographs to sign are the eight-year old little girls- I think we show them a world of women and power when we skate- awesome for girls to see at that tender age when "girls" can be so brutal at school...just my opinion.
I'll be bouting again September 14th against our local Rocky Mountain Roller Girls at the Bladium Center in Stapleton. And then again for our Season Championship vs. The Bad Apples October 17th at the Fillmore!
