What a perfect occassion to break out my Grandmother Ruby's vintage "ruby red" dishes...I love using them.
Navie, Ann,Laura & Abby Jane...
lovebirds...Cadee & Sarah...
So much fun to have the girls get together and celebrate a little Valentines Day festivites. We listened to music, laughed shared stories drank lots of good red wine and enjoyed tons of food!
Tapas; aged Gouda, garlic & basil crackers and red seedless grapes...roasted red pepper hummus and sea salt pita chips, I also made a little appetizer on the fly... I took the garlic & basil organic round crackers, whisked a generous splash of Cabernet Sauvignon and pesto making a sauce to top the crackers, added some Roma tomatoes I diced and topped them all with crumbled feta cheese put em' in the oven and baked them till the pesto sauce bubbled and darkened (after chatting away with the girls and forgetting about them, I totally thought I burnt 'em...but they were really good and if I made em' again I'd leave em' in just as long)
Dinner; Chicken Tiki Masala, Basmati Rice and both original and garlic warm Nan bread.
Dessert; toasted cinnamon crisps, vanilla bean ice cream and fresh organic blackberries. Fantastic!!!
Simple...add a generous heap of vanilla bean ice cream on top of a (toasted) cinnamon crisp then drape blackberries across the top in any fashion you choose. It was like eating warm blackberry pie! A do it again fore sure.
So we all agreed that we need to get together at least once a month and do dinner and wine at one of our houses. It's a must...we all need it.
