Pages out of Arlin Jack's doodle book, because it seemed to be mind numbing and maybe what I needed today.
"Ponyo"... Arlin Jack's favorite movie.
Ponyo is a Japanese animated film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The plot centers on a goldfish named Ponyo, who befriends a five-year-old human boy, S?suke, and wants to become a human girl.Ponyo is driven by a desire to see even more of the world and swims away...creating adventures along the way.The film has won several awards, including the Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year, and it reached #9 in the U.S. box office charts for its opening weekend.
We originally downloaded the Japanese version of the movie by accident and didn't realize it until we were road tripping it on our move to Seattle, but that's the coolest part about it, Arlin loved the movie anyways. After he'd watched it a handful of times, of course by asking a million times, we decided to download the English version and watch it with him. I sat in awe listening to his commentary as the movie played he really understood the emotions of the characters and story line like an adult would. I fell in the love with the film too.
