I took my Mom to Vashon Island for the afternoon last Friday. We took an early morning ferry ride over after dropping off Jack's to preschool.
It was my Mom's first Washington ferry ride, so I thought we'd get out of the car and I'd show her the snack shop and the amazing views from the deck top...
...isn't she cute?!
we passed time here enjoying some latte's while waiting for all the other boutique stores to open up.
But we really came to the Island for this one particular store:
that's right....us girls gotta do some serious FABRIC shopping every once in awhile! And what a sweet surprise! Island Quilter is an amazing little shop full....I mean wall to wall full of gorgeous quilting fabrics, in all the right designers and color ways!
Above pic is just one wall....of prolly 20?!
there's inspiration every which way you turn...
and while browsing...my Mom and I had to stumble upon these bolts...
"Olivia" fabric! It's 'prolly a good thing I'm not having another baby...cause even if he were a boy, he'd might just have to suffer well! I'm sure I'd find some excuse to use these in the nursery. Seriously anyone?...anyone want me to sew them a nursery set with these fabrics? Just let me know...I'm on it! Ugh...this little piggie makes my heart melt! My Mom treated me to a half yard of one of the prints so I can decorate my art bag...Yay!
Lots of Amy Butler and Anna Maria Horner fabrics adorning the shelves. Island Quilter won a place in my heart, with great selection in fabrics and most importantly...very friendly customer service :) who even offered us a discount card for lunch across the street...at the Hardware Store where I just happened to be taking my Mom for lunch! (I suggest their steamed mussels or fish tacos-YUM!)
after lunched we strolled through some more boutiques and admired some art work
Vashon Island is such a cute little town and a great get-away from the hustle of Seattle!
