Seattle Art Annex...
I'll start this post by saying...I feel truly blessed to have landed in Seattle. Back to the water (ahhh, yes, the ocean!) but more importantly ART...the grass roots that fuel my soul!
As if going to Artfest once a year wasn't already sweet enough?!!?! Now I get to go to the Seattle Art Annex for monthly Journal, Lomo, and Sewing Club meetings all thanks to the amazing Teesha and Tracy Moore who have created the most wonderful place in the world for the local community of Seattle (and those who visit us) to come hang out and do their thang!
I went to November's Journal meeting last night. Check out some snap shots I took in between a lot of laughter with some new friends I met.
I walked in and was on sensory overload. Literally the space left me speechless. The entire loft overlooks Yesler Way which is caddy corner to the heart of Pioneer Square...close to the ferry, food, coffee, restaurants, chocolate- whatever you need...it's a pretty sweet location. The brick walls are lavished in Teesha's journal pages blown up to the size of brain candy! (a huge part of why I was for a loss of words when I walked in)
I even got to chat with Tracy about re-binding my oversized journal when it finally falls apart (which looks like it's gonna be sooner than I anticipated). I'm excited to start brainstorming some metal, leather combo...and challenge myself to plunge into a whole new world...
these are the gals I sat with. All have been to Journalfest or Artfest or both! I feel so lucky to have access to such an awesome space to create, a place with inspiration oozing every which way I turn. A place for great conversation with people that love art as much as I do...and quite a few good laughs too! (Rizzo, you're pretty funny girl!)
Teesha, Tracy....thank YOU! for sharing this space.
