House Fix house fix living room our house remodel painting Personal refinished hardwood floors seattle house

I can't stop. I can't stop dreaming about DIY projects, I can't stop rearranging... Life feels full right now. So happy to have a place I can finally call home on Seattle. Here's what I've been up to all last week...

the hub's been trying to snap photos along the way to document the transformation (really this is his way of helping- as he sits on the other side of the living room watching Monday night football!- ha.- And an "After" picture below...

Can you believe it?

I'm pretty happy with the transformation. Since Thanksgiving the hub and I have torn out all the carpet and had the hardwoods refinished (which came out so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes!) Then I painted all the walls, using two different colors. Not even knowing it till I was informed by the paint guy at the local TruValue, I had  picked out pottery barn's 2010 winter "hit"" color- (ha) I thought about changing my mind for a minute but really liked the color so I just went with it for the accent wall-surrounding the fireplace. The paint dried just in time for Brian (our awesome contractor and relator's hub) to install new baseboards. AND we ordered new top down bottom up shades for the humungous panoramic windows in the living room/dining room...which will be installed before Christmas-yay!

O.k...enough bragging...let the pictures speak for themselves...

A lot of our furniture is not "fitting" into some of our spaces....Sad to see it go but our dining room table and sideboard are way TOO big for our dining room so we're selling them through a local consignment shop....but they don't really match the whole mid century modern feel were going for either...Actually a lot of our other furniture from our Victorian house in Denver doesn't flow with the style we'd like but with baby steps we'll find an "eclectic" happy design!

It looks great, Tyler! Really so much better, really chic! Oo, and I love the frame-collection on the mantle-piece. The way they´re put together, you can just tell you´ve got a great eye for esthetics! ;-) (but we knew that already!)
